No News is Good News

Today marks the 7 year anniversary of Sonic X Chaotic Battle. Completed in only 3 ½ months, Chaotic Battle was my first real endeavor into traditional animation. Studying other cartoons was the way I taught myself some basics of animation and CB gave me the opportunity to practice drawing preexisting characters and bring them to life.

So, Sega has a little Sonic contest going on (Thanks, Luke). I will definitely be entering this in the next couple weeks. Reading the fine print boils down to a 1-5 minute video, no 3rd party graphics or copyrighted music, and it must be original work. There's a bit of reworking and tweaking I have to do to submit to this and that's what the next couple of weeks will be spent on. We'll see how that goes.

Until my submission is finalized, I won't be spending much time on finishing Act 3. I just have to sit down and do it, but instead I decided to take a break and play Uncharted 2 the entire weekend.

Wish me luck.

The way I think about is its a preview of Sonic X CC for us fans that have been waiting if you win the contest :)

Thats why I let you know, because you've been working on it for so long you have a good shot at winning I thought.

Your Sonic X CC is already a shoe-in.
Luck is not necessary to give. Btw, how long was Sonic X CC again? Last I remembered you'd said something about it being 7 or so minutes long.

If you would like some help with music, I could lend a hand. I'm not sure what you're looking for but i have FL Studio 9 so if you want a certain sound, i will probably be able to make it. No cost, just credit me, i can guarantee you it won't be copyright.

So if you want my help, E-mail me at or PM my newgrounds account,

I don't get why you've taken so long with this project man. Of course you're going to win the contest with how much time you've invested in the project, but I hope you take the time to release the original as well.

Was in high school when you started cosmic chase, now I'm on my second year of college. lol =]

Anyways, good luck man.

Thanks, gang. I appreciate the comments as always so I'll go ahead and answer some questions.

@Nate: It'll be about 7-8m long including title and credits. Trying to keep it as short as possible and I'll be cutting out some stuff here and there.

@DJ Majaro: Thanks for the offer, but I've got the music taken care of.

@Artemis: It's taken so long because I suck. Feel free to donate some money to help speed the process along :P
